- Client: Mr. Huzefa Khambalia
- Location: Wimbledon
- Project: Bespoke Cabinetry for Vision in the Village Opticians Store
Project Overview
At The Pine and Oak Factory, we had the pleasure of working with Mr. Huzefa Khambalia to create custom cabinetry for his high-end opticians store, Vision in the Village, located in Wimbledon. Our mission was to design and build bespoke furniture solutions that would enhance the store’s functionality while reflecting its luxurious character.
Bespoke Chest of Drawers
One of the standout features of this project was the creation of a massive bespoke solid oak chest of drawers. Measuring 3.6 meters wide and 1.2 meters high, this piece was meticulously designed to house up to 1000 spectacle frames. Key details include:
- Material: Solid oak with a luxurious finish.
- Design: Each drawer was custom-made to fit various eyewear, optimizing space to accommodate the maximum number of frames.
- Features: Drawers lined with blue velvet to match the store’s logo, soft-close runners for a smooth operation, and a seamless, handle-less design achieved through cut-out handle shapes in the oak frame.
Reception Desk
The bespoke reception desk was crafted from a single slab of solid oak, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The desk features:
- Material: Solid oak.
- Design: An elegant cutout of the store’s logo in front of the desk, adding a personalized touch.
Additional Furniture
To complement the reception area, we also designed and installed the following:
- Solid Oak Filing Cabinet: Matching the overall aesthetic with practical storage solutions.
- Solid Oak Tables: Two additional tables were crafted for client services, enhancing the store’s functional layout.
Storage Solutions
Given the high-end location and the need for efficient use of space, we implemented several storage solutions:
- Floor-to-Ceiling Cabinets: Located at the back of the store, these cabinets were painted white to blend seamlessly with the interior while maximizing storage capacity.
- Paper Record Storage: A section of the white cabinets was designed with a depth of only 20centimeters,strategically utilizing otherwise wasted space for storing paper records.
Inspection Room
In the inspection room, we designed bespoke furniture to support the optician’s work:
- Desk: A custom white desk for the optician’s tools and lenses, made from solid wood
painted white. - Kitchen Area: A small kitchen area with soft-close doors and drawers, also crafted from solid wood painted white.
Outcome
The result is a beautifully finished, high-end store that combines functionality with elegant design. The bespoke oak cabinetry and reception desk have significantly elevated the store’s status, providing ample storage and a stylish presentation.
Client Feedback
Mr. Khambalia expressed his utmost satisfaction with the quality, fit, and finish of the cabinetry. He was particularly impressed with our team’s craftsmanship and attention to detail.
